Society for Social Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting, Queen?s University Belfast, 6-8 September 2010

The Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is designed to facilitate the reporting of new research findings, providing opportunities for younger members to present in a relaxed, friendly environment and also allowing for presentations from established names in epidemiology and health services research. It provides excellent opportunities for
networking, developing and maintaining friendships and enjoying the experience. New initiatives to support early career researchers are also being planned.


The 2010 meeting will run from lunchtime on Monday 6th to lunchtime on Wednesday 8th September. It will include plenary lectures from invited speakers, several highlighted talks from the authors of the top scoring abstracts (according to committee review) and parallel themed talks. There will also be two lectures named after, Archie Cochrane and John emberton, which will be given y well known speakers. In addition there will be a number of poster resentations which can be viewed throughout the conference. On the Tuesday afternoon, delegates can choose between attending one of a umber of workshops organised by members of SSM or another society and rips around the local area.
